SKILLED NURSING

A Skilled Nursing / Rehabilitation Facility is a healthcare facility where patients can go once they are discharged from the hospital, but are not yet capable of going home and functioning on their own.  Skilled Rehab Facilities provide nursing services and additional services such as Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Counseling to help patients recover from their illness or injury so that they can eventually return home. Often, a Skilled Nursing Facility is in conjunction with a long term nursing home, assisted living facility or adjacent Hospital.

Spiegel Nance Design has designed and managed construction of Skilled Nursing Facilities for the majority of our Hospital Clients throughout Southern California.

The designer must remember that the Clients are not only marketing to the patients and their families, but also to referring physicians, social workers, and faith communities that recommend nursing homes to their patients or members.  The best designs for a Skilled Nursing Facility are those that not only appeal directly to the potential resident but also to the extended community to which it is tied.
